I can give you about the time of the year. Late spring, early summer. Your pants are high water so it isnt at the beginning of the school year and they havent been cut off for shorts for summer, yet

The subject of "bail money" never came up in our family.........Pop lived by the "you got yourself in there of your own accord...you can get yourself out" rule. I never tested him.....Big Bro came close

Tough to say for sure but I was going to guess late 70's into the very very early 80's. Those styles died hard. LOL. Very cool, either way. I had a bowl cut for like 4 years.

No shame in growing up poor. My mom would come home from work with trash bags of clothes. I was too oblivious to realize she'd been to Goodwill.

We weren't poor and we did that. If I got anything new, it was Rustler jeans from Walmart. Otherwise it was used and hand me down because she didn't want to blow money on something I'd outgrow quickly. My sister wore a lot of boy clothes…hahaha

Yep, and iron on patches when we tore the knees out in a bike wreck. My hair looked exactly the same in 1980 at that age too. It turned browner when I was in college. Still brown today and not grey, so there is that!

Did anyone have the AM/FM bike handlebar radio that was red with yellow buttons? I think I got it from mailing in Lucky Charms cereal box tops and a few bucks.
