Mife wife quit smoking cigs 6 years ago using vapes. But she never gave up the vape habit. Not good I know.

Anywho, she flushed the toilet and dropped the vape at the worst possible time. I bought this cheap Chinese usb snake camera years ago and couldn't see it. The vape is one of those rectangular ones about the size of a cig box. With the hole I saw on the camera I can't believe it went through there. I wasn't able to snake the camera very far.

I guess the next step would be to take the toilet off? I'm afraid to flush it. I have an old log cabin style home built in 1970. Not a lot of pipe cleanouts. Pipes in the basement are old cast iron. Not sure what to do.

My thought also was to call a plumber who may have a better snake camera before taking the toilet off.

Having the plumber camera/snake your line just to be sure it's not stuck in a pipe would probably be good for peace of mind.

I wouldn't use that vape again though.

You can always pull the toilet and visually inspect to see if it is lodged in there.

I will say, being that it is a lithium ion battery, if you cable it, it could break the battery open and cause thermal runaway. Depending on size of the battery, may not be a huge deal, but you don't want to create a porcelain bomb.

If you're in the College Station area, I would recommend Brothers Plumbing Co. of College Station to take a look.

Full disclosure, my husband and I are the owners of Brothers Plumbing Co., but always happy to help out a fellow Aggie as well as all members of our community.

Just west of Atlanta. What time can you get here? Short drive. Stop at the Bucees in Leeds, AL.

Are you brothers?

Are you 100% positive it actually flushed? I would look under the vanity, in trash can, etc to make sure it actually flushed. I too would be surprised if a rigid rectangular object the size of a cigarette box made it all the way through a toilet into your drains

I should check that. I'm shocked it went through the opening I saw on the camera snake. Good idea.

I mean, stranger things have happened, but a rigid object the size of a cig box making it through the gooseneck on a toilet seems to be a very low probability.

It is the size of the one on the right.

Man, I'm going to be pissed if I spent an hour fishing around in a toilet and that's what happened. It is a very tight area with very dark slate tile. Would be easy to miss if it fell behind it.

As crazy as that would be...no. Brent and Joe are the brothers. It's a family business and they are both master plumbers.

I dropped a flip phone in a toilet one time that is probably about the same size, We took the toile off and took it outside and flipped it over. Out fell the phone.

Re-checked all around. Nope. Hopefully it's stuck in the toilet. I guess I have to take it off and flip it as suggested.

Fun! (As a side note, my wife loves to do plumbing. She's replaced several faucets and the kitchen disposal, etc.. ) But I'm not going to let her try and move a toilet by herself. It's been probably 20 years since I replaced a toilet. I'd just hire a plumber but my wife would try and do it herself before she'd let me do that.

Done. Of course I came home and the wife has already removed the toilet, trying to move it herself. She wants to replace it so we took it out on the back porch and a well placed hammer blow and voila, vape recovered. FYI ,nothing the size of more than a half dollar size cane get through.

New toilet in the works. Anyway happy ending. Thank you for your help. I leave you with a view of the reservoir they are clearing and going to add 4..5 billion gallons to. I'm going to lose 4 acres. Some of those trees obstructing the view I was not allowed to cut look mighty sick. They might just fall over one weekend and disappear at night. Gig 'em

2nd floor but it has a basement out the back. So kinda 3rd from back there. I'm in the Chattahoochee Hill Country SW of Atlanta. Former Eastern Airlines pilot built the place back in 1970. German physician had this cool old stone house on the property closer to the river build back in the 1930s but the *******s are flooding it so they have to tear it down. I back up to 300 acres of county land they wont build on because this is the county water supply. Im one of about 4 houses grandfathered in on the reservoir.

Had to negotiate with this jerk lawyer (my law partner) about eminent domain and paying me for the 4 acres they took.

Let me reiterate my previous post, just throw the vape away. I don't care how well you wash it.

In Grandpa's day women got the vapors.

Now they drop em down the toilets.

One of my daughter's co-workers in the Med Center is a lung researcher.

Dissects lots of them that come out of dead people and transplant patients.

A few minutes of him talking to your wife might convince her to stop vaping. Then you never have this plumbing issue again!
