Anybody know anything about these? Got it for free today (I do scrap metal on the side to make money to save up for a food trailer. You wouldn't think I make much money on this; but I do.).

Runs and drives; seems to be in great cosmetic in mechanical shape. I know it was made between 1990 and 1997. Didn't test the PTO switch out.

Is it worth anything?

I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

without doing anything to it i would think you could get a couple hundred bucks

if it actually mows 800-1000

thats just based off me personally and what new ones cost.

What's to know? It's a 14hp v twin gas engine on a mid 90's mower. It works like every other gas engine made to date. I'd clean it up and use it but I would not give it away for a couple hundred bucks.

Much like dealer purchase John Deere mowers, these are a little heavier and not like the stuff you get at the box store. Also like John Deere parts are expensive so maintenance is paramount to keep everything on order.

Search tractor house.com for asking prices on that model.

PTO doesn't engage - but engine runs fine. Needed something to pull a wagon around the yard as my old backup required too much $$ to fool with. So, may keep unless I can get some $$ out of it.

Based on doing some basic research, the transmissions on these things are highly valued.

Yeah, but I already have a guy interested at $650. Hustlin rules.

Where are you based out of? My mother needs my dad's old Bolens picked up and removed.

He died in 2019, so maybe 2016/2017. I think he bought it when they built the house, so around 82/83.

Oh. I thought that was like a 70's vintage. I didn't think Bolens was around then. It's hard to keep track of all the brands! I'm a tractor sucker, but more 70's and 80's. I love them. I do have some 40's and 50's tractors that I have running around for my garden.

It's funny how back in the 70's the "off brands" were pretty damn good.
