Or more than occasionally. But I thought yall would appreciate some really, really exceptional, elite levels of dumb.

I bought this Tisas Nightstalker a while back to use in single stack for steel challenge. 9mm, full size....and after I'm done shooting steel with it I liked that it was already milled for an optic and had a threaded barrel so I can put a dot and suppressor on it and do hoodrat things with my friends. Win/win.

First match I shot with it (which was also the first time I shot it at all), the gun was shooting way left.

No problem, I can use a hammer as well as anyone. The next week I put it on the bench to fix my issue. Well, I eventually gave up and got out the actual sight pusher after hammering on it for way too long with a brass punch. (yes, I did remove the set screw before I tried to adjust the sight). That sight/slide fit is tight.

Took it to the range and put it on paper, still shooting left. Grumble about how I should have just brought the sight pusher to the range but again, referring back to the "I am an idiot" message from earlier...I left it at home, so I go home and adjust it more.

Next range trip that I have time to play with it I bring it back out and the gun is now shooting 12+ inches to the left. What in tarnation? Mentally talking myself through it "lets see, FORS, Front opposite rear same, the gun is shooting to the left so I adjusted the sight to the left....oh. oh no...." FORS works great when you remember to move the sight the same direction you WANT the impact to move, not the same direction as its currently impacting. Do it the right way and you zero some sights. Do it my way and you end up nearly off paper at 25 yards.

A quick look at what two range trips and continually adjusting a sight the WRONG direction will get you:

My poor rear sight looks like its trying to GTFO. Not because its a crappy gun as I wanted to blame the issue on, but because the hardware is operating off Windows 3.1 level software when its in my hands.

Its been too long since I've had to drift iron sights, apparently. Dots and adjustable rears have made me a dumber man.

I hope others can learn from my wasted time, ammo, and frustration, or at least enjoy laughing at me.

I think I'm going to enjoy this gun a lot more when its actually hitting POA/POI.

You can't reach my elite levels of stupidity. My wife will tell you.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

Why would it crack?

And I havent moved it back yet. Its on my project list to do but for now its sitting there, in the wrong spot and mocking me as I deserve

That's ok, I was sighting in my new AR. Makeshift plywood target with paper stapled to it. I'm working off a bench, so I'm tucked in to start. I like clusters of three. One. Two. Three. Nothing on paper?

I fiddle with the dials on the scope. Again, one, two, three. Nothing on paper. Crap. So I walk the 100+/- yards. And there are two nice little clover-leaf clusters in the tree. Sigh. I walk back. Crank the dials way down.

One, two, three. Nothing on paper. Again I walk over there. A cute little clover leaf UNDER the target. I dialed it in eventually, but jeez I can make things more complicated than I need to be sometimes.

My son was like, I heard all this shooting, take you that long to sight it in.....so I lied and said I was plinking....

We all have our Bender moments. Beat yourself up, but not Fight Club bad.

Nothing beats the experience of cussing a rifle and scope and then having your teenage son say "I wondered why you were turning it that way but I figured you knew what you were doing".

All you need is the front sight, right?
