Very nice pictures!

Thats an AD-5W I think. The center section is aluminum and the rear glass is tinted to help the radar guys see the scopes. You don't see those things very often anymore. Wonderful aircraft to say the least.

Last night the biggest Gulfstream I have ever seen took off. It said "State of Kuwait" on the side.
Also saw a Lear with the Astro's logo on the vertical stabilizer.

I gotta find (and scan) that picture of the Guppy doing touch and go's at Easterwood back in 1979! That was an unusual bird used to fly the engines cross country that were used in the Apollo missions, IIRC.

Anybody seen The Flying Car hearabouts? I think it's a neat idea, but have only seen the photo in the Hammacher Schlemmer catalog. Would be really neat to watch it take off sometime, if a local owned one.

The flying car is cool, but I'm not sure if I want whatever I'm gonna fly be out on the road, sitting in parking lots etc. I'd have to do one heck of a pre-flight.

Your second picture, the one in tan is an F-5, the single-seater version of the T-38.

Both of those photos are of "Aggressor" a/c from Miramar's FWS (which is now SFTI, I think).

Yeah it's the only pic I could find of the desert camo livery, but I saw them take-off later, and I could've sworn they(the desert camo planes)were actually the single seat, F-5 variant...
Need to get some binocs up here in the office.

Maybe someone out at Easterwood can confirm.

There are great pics here on this thread and many great shots on the web. I've been attending airshows for 8 years now and grew up behind NAS Oceana (Virginia Beach, Va.)I love jet noise and the smell of kerosene. My two favorite planes are the P-51 Mustang and the F-14 Tomcat.

But this fella I ( or rather tailgate ) linked to has the most amazing shots I've ever seen. Just click on any of his airshows and you'll see what I mean.

The aircraft for Kyle Field flyovers tend to pass near my house as they await their cue.

What was that thing that just flew over? Sounded like a turbo prop, but it looked like a really old cargo plane. Weird for sure

Ya, you wouldn't think a slab sided box like that would be putting out that much noise. And you really don't expect it to be putting out a turboprop sound.

The Sherpas carried our mail onto our base in England. Whenever we saw them come in we knew a fresh batch of mail had arrived.
