To me, that is unacceptable in this current climate. It gives the overall air that their personnel are unaccountable. I think that it is only a matter of time before some event like another George Floyd, etc. makes this the law of the land, and have it available.

Yes. When all this broke, the city attorney told the local news media that their policy was to not release body cam footage. The local media (looking at you KBTX) said, "K thx, bye!"
Which falls right in line with KBTX's normal policy of tossing softballs to the local municipalities.

If I remember correctly, a current city councilman asked about getting the body cam video released and was basically told to back off.
Wow, I missed that. Surprised there wasn't more outcry or out of area news coverage.
