Funny to see different agencies and media outlets trying to bring back the mask.
Got news for you, it was never that bad for 99+% of the population in this country. It was also never bad for 99.99% of the kids that the tyrants abused and were made to wear the worthless face coverings to school.Another Doug said:
2021 was when COVID was the worst for Texas.
I guess the science is settled then? Should I start posting my hand picked links to articles that say the exact opposite of what yours does? Even if masks did work, that would have been with perfect use. You really think the way the kids were using masks in school did anything? Pulling out the same crinkled germ infested mask day after day really helped? Touching every orifice on one's body and then pulling, tugging, and wiping said mask repeatedly all day long didn't reduce the efficacy of something that was already a marginal tool? I know it's suppose to be nonpartisan but I think we can agree that is simply not true. Covid taught us that. People spent so much time talking about a purple/maroon board (me included). It became very clear that it was a red/blue one. Then shenanigans she and Mcadams pulled with masks, or tried to pull told me all I need to know.
She wanted students still wearing masks in 2021 when everyone with common sense knew that they weren't effective.

I'm not advocating for government overreach. But to say masks don't affect the spread of COVID and other viruses just isn't true, and use of the ad populum fallacy doesn't make it any truer.
Personally, I will not disqualify a candidate for listening to local expert opinions on the best course of action for our children's health. That's a pretty dangerous precedent to set. I'm glad it ended up working out the way it did, but the outcome was anything but guaranteed.

I'm happy that Simen won, but that is some pathetic voter turnout.
It's an off election cycle. Turn out will be much higher next November.Stupe said:

Makes you wonder how many parents of current students didn't vote.
I don't know how any parent didn't know there was an election. We were pummeled with reminders. I bet I got a dozen emails and text from my kid's schools. Maybe the bond issues just overshadowed the school board seat.MsDoubleD81 said:
I spoke with some parents over the weekend. They didn't even know there was an election, much less anything about either 2 candidates.

I saw her as well but I have to ask - where was her mask?SARATOGA said:
I will say this for Nolan. She was out at the polling place I voted at, and was there to talk with people, answer any questions etc. That is what you want to see. It isn't like these are paid positions. So I give her kudos for that.

This is a surprise-and a VERY good one.MsDoubleD81 said:
Simmen defeats Nolan 56-44.

Its the voting process. There should be an app. Paper/Mail is antiquated and fraudulent, and voting in person takes a long time. VOTINGAPP !
Your phone has all the dated needed to verify ones identity, either via the information you have given it (your face, Name, DOB, SS#, Address, Bank Statements, Card #'s etc). and even a lot more data that it has mined from your inputs non-voluntarily because you just scrolled and clicked YES on the User Agreement.
In any case, voting is made difficult by politics and rhetoric, when in reality technology could solve this problem much easier than other problems technology has already solved.
This election is proof that people around here are not forgetting what happened during that time. I know a lot of people that had signs and voted for Nolan in the last election. They switched their vote and it was directly related to the push for kids to wear masks.rich1 said:I saw her as well but I have to ask - where was her mask?SARATOGA said:

I saw both of them at the polling place on Friday as they held up their respective signs. They were even talking to each other which made me wonder what was being discussed.ukbb2003 said:SARATOGA said:

Simmen was too. She was at the city building off of Graham yesterday morning.
