Has anyone used Spare Hand Students for yard work?

I have used Spare Hands for everything unpacking after a move (they organized my whole home, from hanging a world record mount, hanging lights on my gazebo, building shelving in my garage, yard work and recently decorating my whole home for Christmas. On top of this, Zach brought me treats and wanted to make sure that I was satisfied with the wonderful work that the students were doing. I would encourage anyone to utilize their services - everything they do is exceptional!

Will they hang Christmas lights you have already purchased?

Yes, many times. Usually for "hard labor stuff" that my wife & I can no longer do (like put a fence around the garden to keep the deer out).

100% happy with them. Will definately use them again.

For those who have used them, how did you contact?

Ok. That is what i did. How long before they respond?

Most of the Hands I see on there are $30+/hr. Is that the going rate now days for lawn work?

That's still cheap compared to the lawn crews in my neighborhood.

I have a guy mow front only. It takes him about 20 minutes and I pay him $20.

When I mentioned them in another thread, someone said check if they are licensed and bonded (depending on the job), and that seems like very sound advice.

So I shouldn't ask them to hang my Christmas lights?

I feel like I'm a million years old trying to use the app. I have started the process twice and canceled the job because I don't understand what is happening.

The first time, I selected a hand for the job. Then in about 30 minutes, I received a notification that it sent my request out to more people. Why? I don't know. It still showed the person I requested was available but then I was assigned a hand who a rare $10/hr higher than the one I picked, so I cancelled.

I tried again last night. Picked someone. Again, later got a notification that more people were being requested. When I opened the app is said there were 120 approved for the job and it appeared the app was prompting me to pick one but I couldn't select a person. So for fear of 120 people showing up at my house today, I canceled again.

I guess I'm an old and don't know how to use technology. If anyone has any tips, let me know because I'd like to use them but can't seem to make it work.

I've not gotten any type of notification from them and I put in a request earlier this week.

I've had issues scheduling with them also. Hired a worked through the app, then got an email saying actually that person isn't available and they would have someone else show up instead. I replied ok. Next day 2 workers showed up and both charged rates higher than the one I selected. Also the filter for pay range on the app tends not to work correctly most times.
