The city of College Station has a current population of almost 130,000 and according to the article, the city's population is expected to increase by 27% to a little over 207,000 in 25 years and in the next 50 years, it is estimated to grow 177.8%.
"I'd say Texas A&M's growth is one of the big factors. I think our quality of life here in this city has developed over the last several decades and has established us as a good place to live, a good place to raise families," said College Station Mayor John Nichols.
And it's not just College Station that's seeing rapid growth, KBTX met with the City of Bryan who says they have grown by about 2.4 % every year in the last 70 years. The city of Bryan has a current population of around 90,000 and is estimated to grow to 150,000- 160,000 in the next 25 years.
