Just want to see who has Frontier for internet? How is it versus Suddenlink? Have you liked it better/worse? Speed? Any issues of not going down? I think it's about $20+ cheaper than SL, so that would be a plus. Thanks for any info

I've had it for about 2 years or so? I love it. It seems much more reliable than SL, their customer service seems more responsive, and I have no complaints about the speed. I would absolutely recommend them.

Verizon bought them out so maybe you can combine it with your phone bill if you use them.

Frontier has been great for us for years.

We bundled with the phone service. The fiber is fast and we went for almost $300 a month to about $80. Even you you pick up say YouTube TV you will still be way ahead.

Agree with others. We switched from Suddenlink to Frontier and also got YouTube TV. It is still cheaper. The internet speeds are faster than what we had for a lower price, no issues on the phone side of things either. I think there have only been two times in two years where there was an interruption in service. The first lasted only an hour or so before they had it fixed. The second required them to send someone out. Their customer service was 100 times better than Suddenlink and they set us up for someone to come out two days later. They ended up coming early, the very next day, and found our yard guy had sliced the line coming the in house. It was fixed promptly.

About the only 'negative' on the phone side is if you call a local number, you also have to include the 979 area code in the number. I'll happily do that for better service and lower cost.

So for us, nothing but good reports and paying less for more.

We love it. Has been reliable the three years we have had it. Dropped Suddenlyunlinked for cable and internet. Added DirecTV stream and Frontier, and for the most part, could not be happier.

Another positive vote for Frontier!

We moved from Optimum/Suddenlink over to Frontier Fiber as soon as it was available in our neighborhood, and it has been rock solid ever since...AND at half of the price of what we had been paying for 1 gig asynchronous service with Optimum!

Also, as to price, when we were switching we also considered Metronet, but were turned off by their monthly required "tech assurance" fee, which they unfortunately use to pad their bills...so another plus for Froniter.

All of that said, if you decide to go with Frontier Fiber, and they aren't currently offering any type of bonus for signing up, you can use this link to get a bonus $150 Virtual MasterCard after 2 months of paid service:

(Full disclosure, using that signup link would earn me a bonus as well...but in addition you could also get your own referral link after you became a Frontier customer - so ultimately a win/win for everyone!) =)

They've installed the lines in my neighborhood, just waiting for them to turn it on. I'm switching ASAP once they do

I loved it when I had it, and would switch back if I could (we moved out of their service area).

Thank you all of the responses and recs! I'm thinking we will be making the switch. I feel like SL speed has slowed a bit.

Regarding those referrals for the cards, is there something up with those? I had heard one time that if you signup and do one of those 'bonus' things, that when it's time to get rid of your service, they are more likely give you a hard time when you are ready to cancel, than if you didn't signup with a bonus. In fact I think I had heard that from their rep that lives/lived in our neighborhood, who would post on Nextdoor. I'll have to see if I can find that guys contact info and see if he still deals with them or not. Just wondering if anyone else had heard anything about them.

Did a speed test just now see below. This is with 3 mesh routers. It's NEVER gone down in 2 years. And it's half the price Suddenlink was. That's all I have to say about that.

I have seen terms with Frontier's own sign-up bonus, that if the service is cancelled within the 1st year, that the reward would be reclaimed on a prorated basis...but the only thing I see in their terms for this referral bonus was that you have to have the service for 60 days - see the full terms here:

https://www.frontiercustomerreferral.com/terms

And thanks in advance for your consideration to use my referral link!

anyone know what the price is for 1 gig AFTER the introductory rate?

When I signed up, it was $59.99, forever. If, you give them a CC to bill monthly. I also got them to throw in 2 Eero Access points. I bought a 3rd off Amazon, and added it easily.

FYI Optimum is desperate. Even if you're not looking to switch, call and try to cancel and they will throw stupid deals at you. They offered me 4 months and almost 50% reduction on the monthly bill

Agreed. I have Optimum as a backup connection at my house. 1000/40 speed which realistically is about 600/30 on a good day, but after threatening to cancel as I had Metronet come in, it's currently $31/month, tax included with a free* 1GB/month mobile line which I throw in a phone for my kid on long trips to play PBS Kids and watch the videos (which is $15/month and gives a $15/month credit towards Internet services; all in I pay $31/month to Optimum).
