Long shot, but my wife is finishing up her MSN in administration online and requires an approved preceptor with a minimum of a Master degree to register for her last class. Any doctors, nurse practitioners or others with a masters degree in nursing willing to discuss? We're located in Round Rock. My email is profile and thank you for your consideration.

I don't have an answer to your question, but I just wanted to say that I initially read this thread title as "searching for a prospective wife" and thought wow that's a bold topic for TexAgs.

Does she need them in person? I'll ask my former co-workers and such from Wilco.

If you haven't, post this on the Austin board as well

Heck, I'd just like to know what a preceptor is?

It's like a mentor. Usually in nursing, you follow one for your last semester or internship and you have one assigned on whatever unit you work in. Esp for new nurses, they are there to help develop the clinical side of your practice.

Thanks for the responses so far and I've posted in the ATX and SA boards as well. She has been out of bedside nursing for over a decade and works 100% remote as a Senior Medicare Compliance Specialist and Auditor.

The program was advertised as 100% online, with the understanding that a remote preceptor was acceptable, but she is having a difficult time getting approval using out of state individuals. A Wilco option would be awesome, but anyone in Texas would be great at this time.

I think a preceptor for a wife used to be called momma or grandma
