Holy cow. We have an aurora visible in town. This wasn't even out in the country. Just a 3 second iPhone exposure in the subdivision. Dark county here I come!

A bucket list item for everyone should be to get up to Canada and watch it. When we were kids we used to go out at night and lay on the lawn and watch the Northern Lights. A number of times we also had the Orionids meteor shower at the same time.

BTW, we just got back from viewing the Milkey Way in one of the International Dark Sky locations in Ridgway just north of Ouray, CO. We had a clear sky and saw the MW across the sky from horizon to horizon. While watching we were able to see six or seven meteors an hour. It's amazing how your eyes adjust to really dark skies.

Another bucket list item checked off.
