We may have bit off more than we could handle this week. We are replacing floors ourselves in a small house and rented a power scraper to break up the old ceramic tile and thinset. We could really use a couple of guys to help for a day or two. Anyone know of a source for help like this? - In College Station.

My son left a messageā€¦ he has experience as well! He helped tear out old tile and then install wood floor at our old house in Colorado after we had water damage. He'll do a good job for ya

I have not used them yet, but this is set up by some Aggie students. I have seen positive experiences on Nextdoor. It's on my to do list to try this with my next odd job.

This sounds like a bit of a job for some students. I know they are hard workers but I think this might be better suited for a couple of subcontractors or tile guys looking for extra weekend work.

There has also been some negative experiences.

The Aggie who started it posts on threads that are not appropriate for students. Electric repair, sprinkler repair, plumbing which all require a license. Tree trimming was one and they don't even have a chain saw much less competency to operate one.

They need to stay in their lane and just do jobs that require young strong bodies.

Agreed, and like I said no experience with them so for sure ymmv. I certainly wouldn't hire them for those kind of jobs.
