I went back a few pages, and tried the search, and found nothing so here I am. Any recommendations for Barndo builders in the greater Brazos Valley? Anywhere from BCS to Franklin, Bremond, etc. TIA

Lochmann Construction. Matt Lochmann knows his stuff and is very transparent with pricing.

Gayle Homes. Gentry Gayle is a pro. Great builder and an even better communicator. And he's an Aggie. You'll thank me later.

JM Buildings. Jerry and Amanda are great to work with.

Currently finishing one up with Jeff Jones Custom Homes in south College Station.

Structure is 40x100 with about 3.200 sq ft of living space.

Happy to answer any questions as I learned through this process there are lots of variables. It's tough to nail down answers sometimes.

I live like 3-4 houses down from him. I went down and talked to him when it happened. City / county won't do anything, but you can't shoot the hogs either. Crazy

I work with JM Buildings and Jeff Jones as well. Both great options!

We are in the process of wrapping up a 40x80 in the next couple of weeks. I wound up contracting it all myself (I've been in commercial construction my whole career), but JM Buildings and WW Construction are two local builders that I am familiar with (I used to work with the owner of WW) that specialize in barndominiums. They would be my first calls if I was hiring a general contractor.

Can anyone give me an idea of the cost per square foot, $150 or am I way off?

I'm right around that currently including the SF of our upstairs that is just one big room for watching TV. That's GC'ing myself with no costs going to a contractors OH&P.

Obviously a ton of factors involved. I have a big garage and porch that have driven up the cost per SF of conditioned space. If you're hiring a GC, $150/sf would definitely be in the low end. $200/sf is probably more reasonable.

from my understanding when looking at building a couple of years ago, the price for a barndo vs building a house was about the same. Is that still about right?
