Post from CSPD regarding the procession.

Quote:

There will be a large police and first responder presence in College Station today as we honor the life and sacrifice of Sgt. Mark Butler of the Navasota Police Department. This will cause traffic delays and we ask the public to please be patient as the procession moves along Hwy 6. If find yourself near the procession, please move over to the right shoulder or take the nearest exit until the procession passes. The speed of the procession will be slower than normal highway speeds.

The procession will escort Sgt. Butler and his family from Navasota to Central Church in College Station at 9:30am and will arrive at 10am.

The procession will then leave Central Church following a full honors flag presentation, 21 gun salute and a flyover around 1:30pm. The procession will travel from Harvey Rd to Hwy 6 and back to Navasota once the service is over.

We welcome the public to view the procession to pay their respects to Sgt. Butler and his family. However, please be mindful of where you park your vehicle as well as where you stand. We suggest that you find an open parking lot to park your vehicle (do not park along the highway or feeder roads) and stand in a safe place that will not impede the regular flow of traffic.
We would like to thank the members of Brazos County Sheriff's Office, Texas A&M University Police Department, City of Bryan Police Department and College Station Police Department Honor Guard members for their unwavering dedication in coordinating and planning the funeral for Sgt. Butler.

We would also like to thank the College Station Police Department, TAMU PD Motor Units and the Texas Department of Public Safety - Southeast Texas Region Highway Patrol for their commitment to planning the route to safely escort Sgt. Butler and his family to and from the funeral.
