Living in College Station for the last 30 years, I've often wondered where are the folks from Europe going to Texas A&M? We've got a plethora of people from India and China. Are we not actively recruiting Europeans? I would love to see this. Also, who pays the schooling for these folks who are coming over from India and China? Are the taxpayers paying for their college education?

I'm guessing the university would be happy to provide you with the data on the distribution of international students by country, or it is already online somewhere. Maybe call the main Admissions office as a place to start.

Education is better and free in most European countries, so why would they come to the U.S. to pay exorbitant out-of-state tuition for a worse education? Also, the ones that may be here "look" the same so you wouldn't necessarily "see" them.

In the 90's we had the Polish students. After the fall of the wall we saw an influx of eastern Europeans. Now the east and west has more or less caught up. Germans have free University, while the Britain and France has some of the best Universities in the world. That leaves the Asian students, where there are more students than places in their Universities. At the graduate level, there are not enough STEM domestic students to fill all of the available positions and so you see many very qualified Asian students. The Indian students are valued because many (if not most) university educated Indians are fluent in English.
