As stated above its been 8+yrs since the wife & I have been to Aggieland. I know I'm a terrible Ag. This will be our girls (8&4) first trip. Would appreciate any recommendations for hotels, restaurants, and things to do(especially for kids). We will be attending the Bama baseball game on Sat & Sun.
We use to stay at the Hampton on Texas and damn its gone down hill!!! We use to eat at Koppe bridge, Wings & more, and of course Laynes.

Thanks & Gig'em! (Lets hope yesterdays offensive outburst will continue for several more months)

I hate to burst your bubble, but all three of those eateries have gone downhill (in my opinion). How old are your kids? We enjoy most stuff in Century Square with our kids because they can run around in the green space. There are a lot of good places in downtown Bryan as well.

There are new hotels popping up weekly it seems. What are your wants for the experience? The George and Cavalry Court are in Century Square. The Texas A&M hotel is really nice. I hear great things about The Stella and Hotel McCoy (supposed to be a great experience)

For hotels, I'd look at the Hilton Garden Inn on University across from Veterans Park or Embassy Suites at University/Texas Ave. I second eateries on Century Square. Lots of options.

A&M hotel is awesome. Perfect location too. Other great hotel options are both in century square. The George and Cavalry Court. There are good food options there for sure. Koppe, wings and lanes are still worth the trip.

One morning, go to Stella Southern Cafe (not the Stella Hotel) for breakfast/brunch.

Pop Stroke may be your best bet.
It's a great place for kids and big kids.

First Friday in downtown Bryan is this week. Stay at the newly renovated LaSalle downtown.

Pop Stroke is a good choice for the kids. There's also Grand Station, Aggieland Safari, Smarty Sprouts, and the 2 trampoline places.

For food, try Anchor Bar, Zeitman's, Top of the Hill, Maria Mia, Mr. G's, Caffe Capri, Sodolak's, J Cody's.

My girls are 8 & 4 and pretty athletic and like to explore. I'm not looking for a extremely high end hotel ($300/night) but obviously want it to be clean, comfortable, and prefer centrally located.

I will take a look at the hotels & restaurants in century square.

Thank you for the recommendations!

I will take a look at embassy suites. I would prefer to be closer to the action compared to Hilton Garden Inn.

Thank you for the recommendations!

Thank you for the recommendations. I'm hoping to mix in some old favorite restaurants w/ a couple new ones.

Koppe Bridge has been the most overrated burger in B/CS for quite a while IMO. Top of the Hill is much better, even if it is out of the way. Anchor Bar over Wings & More, plus they have $1 boneless and traditional wings on Thursdays. Their pizza has become my go-to lately. Even my kids don't ask for Laynes anymore.

Taco Crave in downtown.
Margies for amazing burger downtown if you don't want to drive out to OSR.
Zeitman's is a superb deli. Sandwich of the month is the meatball sub.

My kids enjoy Top Golf, but we haven't been to Pop Stroke yet.

MBeaux out towards Anderson has the best crawfish.

Why stay at a hotel? Stay better and be more comfortable at my Airbnb! Bring the fishing poles for the kids!

The deli at the Brookshire Brothers across George Bush from the ball field is way better than you'd expect.

Wings and More is the only one of the 3 that I would eat and I live in BCS.

The recent pictures the disgruntled employee posted on Facebook about Laynes ruined me from ever going back

Agree. Koppe Bridge has been yucky for many years and Layne's is going rapidly downhill.
