This will be interesting to follow although I suspect there will be a pretrial settlement and most facts won't see the light of day. There have been too many events, injuries and death over the last few years for it to be coincidental. There has obviously been a poor safety culture for a while .

I didn't know Brandon Ferguson died due to his neck/head being crushed in those grizzly bars, that's a horrible way to die. I never put together so many incidents happening that close together, saw them in the news but didn't connect them.

Two young children and a wife at home, life can be cruel.

I heard they didn't have the equipment locked out/tagged out and someone turned it on while he was clearing the blockage. Terrible way to go.

Lockout tagout is critical. If working, you need your own lock and tag to shut down the equipment.

I don't know any of the details but 100% confidence in power shut off has to be done. The "stored energy" must have come from a capacitor.

I know several people who have worked at that plant, they were all glad to work elsewhere now.

Since it's a fatality there's an OSHA investigation. Which will become public record.

OSHA should be at least 50% accurate on technical issues but may not capture the management culture issues.

Luminant's board knows they're at fault just because a fatality occurred on their site, they will settle.

I feel for the guys that had to get his crushed body out.
