Any recommendations for someone to install starlink on roof?

Depending on location to get a clear view, pitch of your roof, and location of the router it can be a pretty easy install. Starlink sells mounting brackets, adapters for existing J Mounts etc, and longer cords on their site. I installed mine on my own after I was unsuccessful locating someone. This was a couple years ago now though.

Got the clear view. Starlink is working well. Have a metal roof and gutters so was hoping to find a mount for soffit / wall.

Just installed Starlink on my metal building last week. I bought Starlink's wall mount to use. If you've putting it somewhere with a gutter, it is probably just big enough to get around the gutter.

I installed mine on the end of the porch where there was no gutter, and there was a purlin directly inside the trim for my metal screws to anchor into. I put a little silicone (actually included with the mount) around the screws, although there's really no concern with water intrusion where it's mounted.

I've got the cable running above the porch soffit and into the attic of my house, where it then drops into our office space with the router. I think making sure this route is waterproof and doesn't allow any moisture to get inside your walls is the most critical part of the install.

Good deal. I used an existing J Mast from an old service provider and bought the pipe adapter from Starlink to fit the dish. Mine is mounted on the fascia on a peak where gutters are absent and not the roof itself. I ran the cord in through the sidewall directly underneath the mount. You can get similar J Mast mounts online pretty inexpensively and mount to sidewall. There also is pipe extenders if you need additional height to get past your roof peak.

I forget his name, but he installed our starlink along with a property mesh system. He does great A/V work.

This is Kermit Moore and he gets consistently great reviews for AV work.

Boss Visuals. Jordan and his crew are great and reasonably priced for the quality of work and cleanup. I've used them for TV wall mount installs/cable management (which is probably the easiest thing they do), but they are now doing Starlink installs.

I currently have Optimum for internet and phone at my house and pay $164 a month (I have Fubo for programming). I've been wondering if it would make sense to have Starlink? Apparently it would be a little cheaper per month, I think, but the initial cost is such that it seems that it would probably take several years to recoup the initial investment of equipment and installation. Has anyone ditched Optimum to switch to Starlink, and if so how did that work out in terms of savings and performance? Thanks!

Wired solutions are generally considered to be better. Starlink is ideal for rural areas with no hope of a wired solution anytime soon. .

You've got to compare apples to apples here. Phone is a service Starlink doesn't offer so you need to eliminate that part of the bill for comparison. Starlink also doesn't offer any streaming service so set FUBO aside as well. In reality you're looking at a price increase and a performance decrease if you go from Optimum to Starlink.
