Some of you act as if those trucks stop on a dime.

Good lesson learned. Depending on where I'm going in B/CS, I also take FM 159 to White Switch Rd.

The highway has ROW but that was a bull**** move by the truck on the highway. Just slow a hair and let them merge. Don't need to stop. It was almost all the way up to highway/merge speed.

I almost got into a major accident at that spot 10 years ago while coming up for a tailgate. A dump truck slammed on his brakes, coming to a full stop heading north in the left lane to avoid another car that entered from that ramp at about 15 mph. Everyone was slamming on their brakes, swerving out of the way. I almost skidded down the ditch approaching the river crossing.

It is the F150's fault. The semi is on the highway and has the right of way. He doesn't have to let the guy in. Its the responsibility of those getting on the highway to safely merge to those who have the right of way. Secondly, having people merge into the fast lane is a terrible idea.

The main issue is is that the PU isn't accelerating to the same speed as the road traffic. If he did, he would have merged onto the left lane with no accident occuring.

That is the dumbest design. I would be inclined to say that the traffic on the highway has the right of way. As was mentioned above, there is so little space to merge you can't really put a yield sign there.

This giant merge sign says you don't have the right of way. HWY 6 has the ROW.

There are two lanes on the street that merge together, thus "merge left".
After that, the one lane merges onto HWY 6. The merge left is for 2 lanes becoming 1 well before getting on the HWY.

I commuted to Navasota for almost 30 years and am pretty sure there used to be a yield sign for the merging traffic. Going northbound, the place that was the most hairy was the at grade left turn from 6 onto FM2154 with NO turn lane.
That may have the case at one time, guess they took it out because of people slamming on the brakes?

I'm not sure when FM 2154 got a turn lane but it was never signalized and there were still accidents going in and out.

Black truck does not have the right of way.
He is the one merging into the HWY.
Same as any other on ramp to a highway

Cars already on highway have right of way

Too many people drive aggressive and won't let those merging in but it is the responsibility of the those entering Highway to adjust their speed and merge

But in this area im also convinced 95% of drivers believe they do have the right of way when entering a highway
Just like this doofus thinks he had right of way

No you don't

Black truck f'd up, but the rig could have slowed at least a little from speeding to help avoid a near fatality.

That's a problem also
Everybody drives so aggressive and drivers think that on merge lanes and feeder roads with cars turning into them .. they should I never have to adjust their speed.
6 south Feeder is a prime example, that exit out of HEB is a busy busy area and cars headed south on feeder never adjust their speed
Way way too many people who are just clueless how to drive now that's why there's so many accidents now
