What has happened to Wings n More? Over the past year the food has become extremely disappointing. What once used to be a family favorite has dropped in both quality and customer relations. Its almost like they want you to go somewhere else. I used to be a frequent weekly customer but now I'm exploring other alternatives.

Which ones are you referring to?
We eat at the Wings N More Express on 21 frequently and are always impressed with how efficiently it runs and how good it is.
My wife and I sat in the bar area at the Wings N More on University for lunch Saturday. They were packed (we had a wait for our table), but they had our food out in no more than 10 minutes. Everything was great and fresh.
My only complaint could be that the wings are small compared to places like Pluckers or Wingstop, yet Wings N More is where we always wind up.

My wife's not a fan of that sort of food, but when my son and I want to grab something quick but not drive-through, the Express off 21 is our go to. Seems the same as it ever was to me.

The problem with people that don't get it is they don't get that they don't get it.
Overall I still find it good. A few months back we dined in and it felt like the food had been re-fried.
We had it Sunday to go and all was good (except they forgot the ranch for kiddos salad). I took Varsity softball there last month and it was great.
And I agree, the one on 21, I've never had anything bad there.

It is as it always has been. Relatively affordable. Great sauces. Subpar wings.
There are several options for better wings in town (and better service / newer facilities), but they cost a bit more.

Their wings were always pretty average. The way to go is the sauced tender basket.
Just to clarify a bit more. The wings seemed to have gotten smaller with a lot less meat and the chicken tenders have been smaller and at times are like a tendon and extremely hard to eat.
Guilty to say we eat at the University location at least once every 2 weeks. We really enjoy it!
I've never been a chicken tender fan… I sub kid bites instead…I Really like those! Also, maybe little known fact… Their Fried shrimp is Outstanding! As well as their fish tacos.

I will admit that while I usually love it, I was there Sunday-before-last for lunch. I got my usual wing and tender basket. The wings were small and the tenders were both small and tough. I was disappointed.

I'm not a diehard Wings n more fan so take my opinion for what it is. They are definitely on the list for mediocre wings. The sauce, fries, and blue cheese keeps me interested, but I definitely don't go for any other reason. The wings are typically overcooked and small. Like everything else, they have their customer base. If we do get it, we go through the 21 drive through.

No. They focus on the drive thru and it's run incredibly well.

Its just not the same place it was in the 90s and early 2000s growing up. When I moved back here in 2020 it was one of the things I was very excited about and my wife didn't understand the hype. Then I had Wing Stop for the first time and realized what I was missing out on. Our absolute go to now is Anchor Bar.
Used to be one of my favorite places but they have gone down hill and it's just not worth it anymore.
Once I discovered that the sauce is just Frank's Red Hot (here on TexAgs), I prefer to make my own. I melt a little butter in it and add some garlic powder, and I have hot, garlic at home!
Their wings are average at best, Pluckers or Anchor Bar for me. If they were new to College Station, they wouldn't last more than 2 years, but they have a history and will always be around.

I'm curious to know what has noticeably changed so much about the food? I've been going there pretty frequently for the last 20 years and I can't tell the difference overall in the taste or quality of the food.

2 things happened.
1 - the quality of their wings slipped a bit. Not sauces, dips, etc. Just the chicken itself and not dramatically. Still, they are overcooked and small.
2 - other places came into the market and are much better. This revealed the lack of quality in their chicken.

I can confirm that they changed suppliers in the last year. My wife normally gets the mixed veggies and one day they changed. We asked about it and that's when we were told about the supplier changing.

I used to frequent the 21 location to pick up lunch rather often due to proximity to my office and I only ever get the buffalo chicken sandwich in medium sauce with ranch. They changed the bun at first and it made the sandwich be a little less desirable. I thought it was a fluke and a couple weeks later ordered again and got the same bad bun, I asked them about it and they said they changed suppliers and they weren't going back to the old bun ever. Well fast forward several months and I talked myself into going through last week and not only is the bun still sorry but the chicken filet looked and tasted like a premade warm up kind. I'm done with wings n more.
It was one thing to pay their above average prices for good food but I'll find another restaurant to satisfy my Buffalo sandwich craving before I go back to wings n more.
I love those stupidly skinny onion rings
Dump WNM for Anchor Bar. You won't be disappointed.
Buffalo tenders, fries, and a Big Willy is still tough to beat.
