Have a grad school kid that wants to live with 2-3 friends that are graduating in Dec., very few (if any) places he found offers a semester lease. Any suggestions? Prefer bus route and/northgate but obviously willing to be flexible.

Alternatively, any recommendations for rental locators?

Rentals here do generally stay pretty lock step with academic year with pre leasing in the spring for the following year. You may have more luck in the summer with landlords who fail to prelease (though these places will be the less desirable).

Another option would be a short term (AirBnB) or midterm furnished rental. The former is probably pricier (though I know folks who offer 50% off on 30+ day bookings) and hard to find given its gameday rental season. But midterm would be a viable. Prices are higher than long term rental but often include utilities and terms are way more flexible. https://www.furnishedfinder.com/ is a good resource. I've got one midterm rental house in town and often get inquiries from business professional here for 2-6 months (current renter is wrapping up a 6 month stint).

Older apartments that are still close to campus. Like along SW Pkwy.

Mookie, sorry to derail.

Nthomas, if you've got a renter wrapping up a 6 month stint, would you be interested in a 3 month stint for the summer? I'm in College Station and I've got some house stuff that needs to get done, but we don't want to stay while it gets done.

You might be able to find a place they could sublease. Check A&M's off-campus housing office. Their website is https://aggiesearch.tamu.edu

For sure. I have a contract out for review on that one, but not finalized. Also may have a new home ready in a few weeks if my offer goes through. In any case, may be able to point you in the right direction. Shoot me an email (<same handle as here>@gmail.com).
