This is looking like 3-4 inches minimum with real damage potential
new radar on weather.com shows it hitting around 5-6 and out by 7-8. dramatic shift from earlier.
Meteorology friends telling me it would be good to be wherever you need to be by 4, and protect your car as best you can.

been flooding at traditions for the last 20-30 minutes , feels like it is just sitting on top of us and not moving
Friend of mine nearby just sent a pic of a roadrunner taking shelter in her yard. I had no idea these things were in our area.
My favorite spotting of a road runner was when I saw a coyote on my run, then a road runner a few days later, both crossing Rock Prairie.

Literally saw a coyote chase a roadrunner across Hwy 21 years ago. I almost ran off the road laughing.
It's raining so hard and sideways that I don't even know if the gauge will register right but it's over 2 inches and the patio is pooled/standing water all the way up past the awning. This is wild.

I was driving from Normangee back to our house down OSR when it hit with a vengeance. It looked like the white out blizzards I was used to in North Dakota, I struggled to keep my car on the road from the wind, and had to stop/yield 4 in 4 different places where downed trees/branches blocked at least one lane.

I passed about a half dozen cars stalled on 6 coming from Bryan about 30 minutes ago. We don't make rain-proof cars anymore?

Hitting again out here (between Tabor/Wheelock) with some fairly heavy rain, but not real windy.
