Cancelled all outdoor activities

It was the heaviest rain I've seen here. I'm in CS and my whole yard looked like a lake. Drained quickly once it stopped, but it just dumped there for a bit.

Kind of reminded me of Hurricane Harvey but on a much smaller scale. Hurricane Harvey in CS was like rain and less rain for like three days, with no flooding (unless you lived near the Navasota River, I imagine there's some lovely "lakes" there currently).

5 and 2/10's is the official tally in South CS. What a day of rain.

I agree with this….that it was the heaviest rain ever seen here. And I've been here 49 years. We have lived in our current house and actually, for the first time, got water in our house. Not much, but still.

And we are not done yet. Another round of rain is falling here in Castlegate. Just to add insult to injury.

I had snake traps laid this morning. Had to get in my car at 4:15 in Southeast CS to drive to South CS and could barely see. Was fortunate enough to get a text that my appearance was no longer needed by 5 so I turned around and went home.

Went outside tonight and the water levels got so high that the newly installed snake traps have washed away. FML.

The Dome has become the Bowl (at least for today).

In my mind, I equated it with the Sunday in the fall of '94. Maybe in October? Kind of the same.

I think that was a weekend long event. We were bowhunting and only got an hour of hunting in the whole time. Got 18" and the bridge on 2154 south of Millican got washed out.

Hoping the Navasota and Brazos rivers got a boost. I realize that's runoff but those rivers were looking below normal.

Pretty sure everyone tanks are full now...

Tuesday is another day to watch according to my Weather Underground app.

I think we got 5" here in South CS. Possibly it was 6". The numbers have scraped off my gauge m. A new one will be here tomorrow.
