Hi, we are considering sending our son to the junior high overnight basketball camp in Brenham and wondered if anyone had any experience with it. Reading about it, it sounds like a great camp, but I'd love to hear anyone's personal experience since it is an overnight thing. Thank you so much!

I attended the camp throughout jr high and high school back when it was at Southwestern in Georgetown. Our varsity coach was heavily involved and encouraged us to attend each summer (especially as we got older and our entire team would attend the team camp).

It's taught by hs coaches from around the state. I have nothing bad say to about it and would recommend it based on my experience. I would invite a friend to go with him.

On a similar note, I also attended a camp called Point Guard College that I really enjoyed and would recommend. Not sure if they are still around, but it was by far the best basketball camp I'd ever been to. It was very professionally ran with film and skill sessions.

It's a phenomenal camp in my experience. All real coaches - no college assistants. I'd try to get as many kids as I could from your son's team to attend together and play as a team. The camp is set up for that - at least it was in the past. It's worth 2 months of playing travel ball in my opinion. Maybe more. Way better coaching on average.

I'll echo the other two positive responses on the camp. I loved it as a player. It was always great being coached by other school's coaches.

PGC is still around. My son went to one in Dallas and we loved it. Highly recommend them as well.
