Who is responsible for the grass maintenance on Harvey Mitchell between Wellborn and University? State or city? This has not been mowed in a long time and the weeds are are of hand, out of control. A real eyesore especially in front of the Bush Library where it should serve as a nice image for a presidential library.

Huge unspoken problem around town. Seems every new median and construction project has turned into a place for weeds to grow between the cracks. What used to be concrete or just a simple mow, is no longer the case. Now we have the choice between letting it look like crap or maintaining a perpetual drain of tax dollars in places that used to cost nothing.

Might report it to seeclickfix and see if it gets some attention.

They will punt immediately and say it's a TXDOT responsibility.

The new sidewalks look awful. Grass is way to tall.

Spray it with Roundup.

Have any of the new medians received landscaping? Specifically greens prairie or Texas in Bryan?

I guess the city/txdot/whoever contracted this out separately from the paving contractor or intended to do it themselves, but all I've seen at either is mulch or weeds. Why not just make it solid concrete?

I had to look it up. I still call it 2818.

And now they are going to put a walking/bike sidewalk from Villa Maria to the Rellis campus. Who's going to maintain the grass and weeds overgrowing on it? Who is going to walk or ride their bike to the Rellis campus?

They have sidewalks going now west on Villa Maria all the way to Hwy 47 and I have never seen anyone using it from about Brazos Christian school to #47.

THIS X 1000!!!

Also, look at the overpasses and other parts of the highways where trash of all types collects, especially on overpasses, and it seems no one goes around and picks it up. I always notice this when coming from the Navasota direction back into town (

2818 in this section is still the responsibility of TXDOT because the roadway is still "under construction". Once the roadway is complete, it will be taken over by the City.

Please keep in mind when it rains a lot like it has lately, it is hard to keep up with all the mowing needs. The mowers pretty much run non-stop every working day trying to keep up.

Incredible waste of tax $$, for the likely usage. And the FM1688 (Leonard Rd) intersection will need to be an over/underpass, due to future collisions, AND the planned FM1688 expansion. Use the tax $$ where they are needed the most!
The HWY 47 "multi-use" path (aka sidewalk)

Tell that to the code enforcement lady that is breathing down my neck about tenants not mowing soon enough. The rain is the excuse when the city is slacking. But unacceptable to the city when the peasants are slacking.

I'm not sure the sidewalk project has been approved. The $10MM project has to be approved by Txdot. The city will fund $2.5MM and the rest by Txdot. Txdot can't even fund the projects around the county now that's badly needed. Sounds like a "wish list" project with the expected growth on the west side of town that hasn't started happening.

I'm not sure about the grass but I've been driving that stretch of road twice a day for 4 years. I think it is hilarious that when the students were here flying all over a road truly in a construction zone I barely saw a cop. A week after the students left and the road is basically opened up I've seen them out there multiple times a week pulling over locals. Perhaps I'm not being fair or have some bias but I remember wondering multiple times during the semesters "where is a cop?" as someone drove 80 and swapped multiple lanes with actual work going on.

Too much traffic in that area while students are in town. Officers avoid the congestion…too much effort. Easier places to hunt down expired vehicle registration scofflaws.
