All:
College Station is partnering with Rooted In to offer a "Go N Grow Garden in a Box". Pollinator garden and shade gardens available. You pre-order, and pick-up is at Lick Creek Park Saturday September 27 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Kits are $85 + tax. Details and ordering info at: Rooted In Fall Go N Grow gardens

Pollinator Garden
If you want a low-maintenance, pollinator-friendly, drought-hardy garden that basically takes care of itself, this is for you. Every plant in this kit is native to Texas and perfectly adapted to survive (and thrive) in our tough conditions. Hard-to-find natives like Rattlesnake Master, Gregg's Mistflower, Green Milkweed, and Pitcher Sage are included and EVERY plant is a pollinator favorite!

Shade Garden
Not all gardens bask in full sun and not all plants want to. Designed specifically for low-light or dappled shade, this collection includes native plants like White American Beautyberry, Pink Turk's-cap, Cedar Sage, Inland Sea Oats, and Heartleaf Skullcap that brighten even the shadiest corners of your yard with color, texture, and habitat value.

AND...there is a YouTube video with more information about how to plant and care for the pre-designed gardens.

Can you find out and post pickup times? I'd like to order, but we have plans on Sat morning.

I ordered one a couple of years ago and I have had lots of butterflies recently.

When planting the fall box now, will you need to do anything to protect the plants during freezes? I would think they would be ok since they are natives.

I checked the YouTube video and that's in their FAQ section. Around the 51:01 mark they advise that the plants are adapted to the Texas climate and cold hardy, and should survive if planting instructions are followed carefully. On the Rooted In website there is a planting and care guide, and they will email that to you when you purchase as well. These are really fun kits - they are color coded and numbered according to the pre-designed planting plan.

It was nice to see you at pick-up today, waterchick! I'm excited about getting my pollinator plants in the ground soon! (if the Aggie game is frustrating, I'll just do some gardening instead).

Nice to see you too! There should be another pre-sale in the spring, with a native plant box and an herb box.
