Thank you for welcoming Prime Air into your community. For nearly three years, College Station has been an invaluable partner in our drone delivery journey. Working alongside neighbors, local officials, and our partners at Texas A&M University, we've created something truly specialdelivering thousands of packages by drone and making aviation history together in the Brazos Valley.

As we continue the process of integrating drone delivery into our existing global fulfillment network and with our lease expiring later this year, the time is right for us to move on from College Station and deploy Prime Air elsewhere across the country. This transition means Prime Air's final deliveries to College Station customers will take place on August 31, 2025.

College Station will forever hold a unique place in Amazon's innovation story and we're deeply grateful for the support, feedback, and enthusiasm from our customers and partners throughout this journey.

Prime members will continue to enjoy Amazon's fast, free delivery options on millions of items. We're excited to share more soon about our ongoing commitment to serving you and the entire Brazos Valley community. Thank you for being part of this remarkable chapter in drone delivery innovation.

I was never in the drone service area, but I applaud them moving on. With numerous people having the peace of their neighborhood disrupted by these buzzing machines, just so people can entertain their kids by having it land to deliver a bag of chips, or other small stuff people are too lazy to go out and buy or plan ahead, their voices have been heard.

Amazon completely redesigned their drones to cut the noise, and planned to move away from neighborhoods and build a larger warehouse. Yet, some people wanted to live in the middle of town and expected it to be country quiet. I bet it was never even about noise. Most complainers just didn't want Amazon around.

Yep. I've been here for 38 years. There has always been a percentage of the population that believes this city has to stay small and does everything they can do prevent any type of positive growth.

One of the reasons I order from Amazon to begin with is because we don't have retailers that provide some of the things I need/want. With this small town thinking we never will.

You couldn't order from Amazon using their normal delivery? Life is too hard without my immediate satisfaction!!!

There are plenty of times throughout the year that normal Amazon delivery is over a week, even with Prime. If I'm working on a project and run out of something I need, or something breaks that I need, I don't want to, or have time to, wait over a week for a new one.

We ordered drone delivery a couple times for the novelty of it. Never had an urgent need for anything, or a way to know what was available by drone across the board. It was a cool service I guess, but I don't think I will miss it.

I live in Emerald Forest like 1m from the drone place. Never once bothered me. Weird that people complained.

It was a novelty and it was loud. I'm sure they will be back if they become the standard. We will live and our growth as a community won't be stunted.

I was sorry to hear their decision. Thanks to Amazon for the 3 years.

It was less loud than a Harley or bro-dozer tinnitus special driving by the house. I didn't really hear it until it was descending into our back yard to drop the package.

I guess it was loud enough the kids in the house behind us heard it and came out to investigate too. I didn't find it to be offensively loud though. That's just my opinion though.

Try living close to an apartment complex (less than a than 200 yards) had multiple deliveries PER HOUR). It was very loud when they were landing and taking back off, that i could hear inside my house. Then they'd hover over houses on their way back. I do say that the new and improved drone was much more quiet. Still glad they are gone, or going.

It was pretty rough on the folks that lived on the closest street. Nearest home was less than 400 ft and when that first model punched thrust to take off, and to descend slowly when landing- dozens of times per day…was very irritating. Then the new model came and it was dramatically quieter but still a constant buzz if you happened to live close by.

Ask the folks who live in Midtown who didn't meet the parameters for delivery but had to deal with the Nine 50 deliveries. There is one house who shared the fence with the delivery zone.

Another example of CS and their non-business friendly attitude. People say they want the benefits of a big city, but actively work to kill anything innovative. Notice how many comments were about the first version, not the later ones which tried to address the first edition issues

People were not going to move here just because we had Amazon drone delivery, but there is lost potential on the business side. Being known as a community that works well with businesses testing new technologies would bring more opportunity in the future for test markets like this.

Just reading their message, I would've thought they were leaving because the test revealed our market is too small.

That's what I was thinking. I don't see Amazon leaving a profitable area because of some complaints about the noise of their drones.

Did they deliver to the university? Snook? Kurten? I think all of these were needed to be successful.

I'm genuinely curious how much of a difference they made. For both businesses and individuals.

I could see it losing its luster quickly if you live next to it. Maybe they should have done more homework to find a better location. If it can be made less of a nuisance and had the ability to see what all is available via drone, I do hope it comes back.

Edit: The old Sears Repair building would be far enough away from houses. Although, I don't how much space they currently have/need.

The university required permits due to proximity to the airport. I doubt Amazon ever went near there.
