I am always amazed that people living in a college town seems to hate everything that comes with that.

Just asking- not picking an argument- but do you live in a neighborhood with a character that is morphing with each passing year? Or one that is essentially the same today as it always has been?

Inquisitively and respectfully

One that changes every few years as people move. Especially the last 10 years there has been a huge shift.

Thanks.

For me this is a tough public policy challenge. It involves public safety, property rights and neighborhood integrity. No matter what we decide, at least one of those will take a hit.

I worry about a fire engine being able to navigate our streets. I worry about the small business person that has a third work van or truck. I worry about the residents that live in the affected area watching their neighborhood change before their eyes.

I encourage anyone with constructive feedback to post here or send me an email at byancy@cstx.gov

I'll be looking closely at the survey results as they come in. It was a packed house last night.

Caring about neighborhood integrity isn't a switch the city can flip on and off depending on what's convenient for them and the city has already demonstrated through multiple actions over the years that they don't care.

Ya neighborhood integrity is not a thing. They had no problem converting my 6 house unpaved culdesac to 70ft wide 5 lane busy Street while annexing me and providing nothing that i did not already have other than $4000 additional taxes per year.
When i lived near holleman in the name of neighborhood integrity they installed traffic calming features in the Southside neighborhood and immediately determined that fire vehicles were unable to navigate through them.
Where is my traffic calming? Bring back my neighborhood integrity.
Or maybe just think through things for once.
I have lived through at least six convention center boondoggles nothing they do surprises me.

Y'all stop complaining. When big events happen in town, the grass along the roads and sidewalks get cut and the trash gets picked up a few days before the event.

Really?

Have you seen the shared use path/sidewalks along the remodeled portion of 2818?

Who is in charge of mowing there ?

Looks like a ticket-able offense for grass height if that was a resident's yard.

Not sure. The way it usually works is the city says "that's TXDOT's right-of-way to maintain".

TXDOT says "we just handle road maintenance, the city is supposed to handle the rest".

Kinda like calling in a traffic or road problem on Wellborn Rd south of Barron Cut-off. The city wants you to call the county. The county wants you to call the city if it's in an area the city annexed.

It's typical "not my problem" from local government and plenty of finger pointing.

If you want more ag shacks with 8 car parking lots in the backyard, this idea is how you get them.

One week is not enough time for feedback.
