Am I correct in assuming that is is a city of Bryan park?

The place is always a mess when we go practice there. Trash I laying everywhere trash cans overflowing. The bathrooms were terrible tonight. One of the other parents said they played a tournament there this weekend and it was like that all day Saturday.

The neglect and disrepair of the Bombers Park has been well covered in other threads. It's a disgrace and likely at the heart of all the local baseball moves in the semi pro/ collegiate summer space that have also been addressed.

My understanding, and this is second-hand at best, is that the city has not taken over maintaining the facility yet since it is still under the control of the soon-to-be leaving tenant.

Bryan is trying to get another team to replace the Bombers. Are they going to put a few hundred thousand of $$$ or so in the park to make it nice?

I agree. I wish that the city of Bryan would build two ballparks for 13-15 year old level games. Then, they would have a very nice youth baseball district.

His failure to maintain the park is a big part of the reason many of us aren't sad to see them leave for CS.

He's just like any other business owner. His goal is to maximize his profit and minimize loss, not "be a good steward of the park". I was in Houston when they built Enron Field. Was there for opening day in 2001. Its not near as nice as it was 24 years ago, that's for sure. Look at the reason the Oilers left the Astrodome. They didn't upkeep the facilities, the city / county did.

I think that the Bombers would be a nice "icing" for an otherwise used baseball complex that hosted larger tournaments year round that attract the ever elusive out of town visitors who's kids are in a 2-3 day tournament. He would not be the person doing the upkeep.
