Bulldozing of all trees on University & Harvey on East bypass?

Noticed this morning that the trees near the University & Harvey overpasses were all being bulldozed down.
Anyone know why this is being done?
Safety concerns, perhaps?

we will have nice things after the messy things. They have already stated that replanting and landscaping in part of the final process in this whole thing.
