I would like to humbly request 500M from the city council to build a kick ass zoo. This is an estimated build cost for other world class zoos like the one in San Diego.

I would support this. Think of the opportunities to partner with the Vet school!
It was attempted in the past. For some reason, it did not work. It was definitely not world class. It was kinda like walking around a pasture and looking at some antelope, a giraffe and an ostrach. The Aggieland Safari is much better than the Brazos Valley Zoo ever was.
I'm still patiently waiting for Brazos Valley Amusements to open up their park out HWY 30!
Inb4 someone says we already have a zoo at 1101 S Texas Ave.
Call it a convention center and zoo and they'll throw even more money for it. Just get some "consultant" to say that it'll be full year round
I'd rather we have free range tiger and lions.

On that note, I was thinking we should have it located on the brazos river, out past 1775 barbecue. Add infrastructure to the river and it would be really pretty with all the old growth forest. plus if we buy some lions off the Waco zoo we can just ship them down the river. don't think it floods too bad up that way.
Throw in a 128 Mega watt data center while you are at it

Before going any farther, the city commissioners need to drive over to Lufkin and look at their Zoo. Lufkin's has been around for 60 years, Is a great zoo and has a train that runs children around the zoo,
