My auto insurance is again going up and up, Anyone have the auto insurance through Costco and had issues with making a claim? I haven't had a claim in over 25 years, but premium keeps going up,

I haven't used Costco, but I have found the cheapest with good coverage to be state farm and TX Farm Bureau. But I also shop policies every 6 months since everyone seems to try to hike rates when a policy auto renews.

Same... same... Also, though we are using Tx Farm right now and they appear cheapest at the moment for me; they did try to sneak additional things on the policy every renewal even when we said no.

We found on our house insurance they added a 240k dollar building separate from our house on Section B or whatever it is... I don't have such a building at all. This occurred on the Auto Insurance as well; so they are at least consistent.

Good prices in comparison, low integrity.

Last year state farm and TX Farm Bureau.were both higher than what I have,

When considering auto insurance you need to budget in the "hassle" factor. Cheap insurance normally has the highest "hassle" rates.

This is important when you need that uninsured coverage, which I have found to be the most used option in my insurance.

This is an important point. It's also important to make sure you're comparing features. I haven't shopped in a long time but last time I did was when my kids were teenagers, right before our son got his license. We are with USAA and have been since I enlisted nearly 40 years ago and moved from my dad's policy to my own. We shopped Geico and Progressive and the latter wasn't competitive for the new driver and Geico didn't offer accident forgiveness. Well with soon to be two teenagers on the policy that seemed like a bad decision so we stayed put.

I pay 250/month for full coverage and low deductibles on 2 vehicles with state farm. Everyone was substantially higher than that. They have also been easy to deal with in accidents- I hit a hog and they quickly took care of everything (including getting me into a rental same day). My husband was sideswiped at 21 trying to turn left onto 6 (someone not in the left turn lane decided they would turn left anyways). They handled our claim quickly and went after the other driver with full payouts and reimbursements in less than 4 months.

There are SO many limits, sub-limits, exclusions, and varying provisions that are baked into an insurance policy…You really should hire an independent agent to go to work for you. If you work with honest people (hard to find, but possible to find…Startjng with folks affiliated with Texags), you will thread the needle on coverage and price every time.

I just received my auto renewal. Also moved one of my sons to his own policy so that left us with only 3 drivers, 3 cars. However the rate still increased 50% within 6 months.

I have been shopping all last week and best rates I am finding at the moment are with Allstate. They were only a $180 increase vs my last 6 month policy.

My homeowners and also dwelling policies for my rentals have all increased 50% as well. To try and manage this the only real option is to increase deductibles but is that the right decision?

I live in Montgomery County just north of Houston and most carriers are bailing from this area with fewer and fewer options. At what point does the system get overhauled? Or the state step in?
