Traditions is a much tougher course and is not walker friendly. Pebble doesn't have the force carry that Traditions has so it's easier. The course conditions at Pebble are improving but to be frank, are often embarrassing for a country club (due to poor decisions by original developers). The greens are now great and but there are still lots of bare spots with gravel in the fairways and rough. Many bunkers are not good, and in some cases, can cause injury. Pebble is under new ownership so we'll see how hard they address the bare spots and bunkers.
I've heard tee times can be hard to get at both places but I've never had much problems getting a tee time at Pebble (probably due to time of day I play). It's supposedly harder on game weekends but I've heard especially so at Traditions due to all the out of town members.
I may be biased but I still prefer playing Pebble over Traditions and Miramont because, IMHO, it's just a more fun course to play despite the less than ideal conditions. Pebble has done a really good job of bringing in younger members.
The pool and food are better at Traditions but things are improving at Pebble. Pebble added a swim up bar a while back that's been a hit with adults. If the pool is very important to you, Traditions all the way.
I would give the nod to Traditions for junior golf because the group sessions at Pebble is glorified baby sitting (which may be the result of being so popular that they have more kids than the teaching pro(s) can handle). But individual instructions for juniors and adults is really good at both places.
I don't know anything about tennis at Traditions or if they even have it but I've heard that the instructor at Pebble is really good for juniors.
