Browns BBQ off S. Lamar is great for a brisket sandwich to go.

Lucky's Puccias on W. 5th has very unique wood fired sandwiches. I believe they've added a brick and mortar location near downtown with expanded menu.

Veracruz off E. 7th has excellent tacos. I suggest the grilled fish.

My wife and I got married at Green Pastures as well. While the food wasn't our motivation (moreso the beauty and environment) we really enjoyed that day.

I have enjoyed turf and surf twice now. On barton springs road. A little pricey but the seafood has always been good.

They do make good brisket and pile your plate up.

Not a fan - twice. Overdressed po-boy, breading fell right off the shrimp (visit 1), grilled shrimp were undercooked (visit 2). Everyone has a bad day, but 0 for 2 means that I won't be going back.

Baton Creole moved into Sweetwater off Stassney in 78745ish.

Went to two places this weekend down in South Austin off Brodie that I thought were really good! Both were located in a small area that had a little stage and picnic tables. The BBQ truck we went to was called Nutter Buster BBQ and Comfort and we really enjoyed it. Awesome pulled pork and mac & cheese - we will definitely go back again.

The guy working the trailer also recommended we try the seafood truck (Fishey Bizness Seafood Co.) in the same area and recommended the shrimp po boy which was legit. Good sized shrimp butterflied and fried where they weren't greasy at all. The shrimp tasted like they just pulled them out of the water.

There was also one of the Hey Cupcake trucks but we didn't get anything there.

Good food, live music, free beer - i'd recommend stopping by!

Another +1 for both the food trailers at this site (I think it's called "The Barn on Brodie"...next to Lowe's in Sunset Valley). I've only had the pulled pork at Nutter Buster's Bar-B-Q only because I love pulled pork and it was excellent. Another time,the gf and I split an order of fish and shrimp tacos from Fishy Bizness. They, too, were excellent. You will also get a free beverage with the order...including beer if preferred (at least both times I've been there). Haven't had the Hey Cupcakes (not into sweets! Gimme meats!) This place is becoming pretty popular; especially on the weekends when the weather is nice. Good place to take the kids. They've also got a bean-bag toss set up.

Had the Szechuan fried chicken wrap at the trailer next to Gibson Street Bar on Lamar. Fan-freakin-tactic

Tried Chi'Lantros Kimchi Fries and they were pretty damn good. We paired it with a gyro from the truck that was parked next to them. Don't know the name, but it was one of the better gyros I have ever had. Right up there with Nikko Nikko's in Houston.

Kebabalicious. Haven't found a better on in town. If you go to their brick and mortar location on 7th they have an all lamb version that is fantastic.

I will have to give that a try next trip to Austin. This one we had was chicken and lamb but it was very delicious. Thanks for the tip.

Another vote for DFG noodle. They come to my work as well.
A lot of their dsishes come with a side of fried chicken that is amazing!
