Valentina's and it's not even close.

Marcelino's at the corner of Tillery and Lyons in east Austin. Line is out the door every day. They only do breakfast tacos. I like to get their carne guisada on flour... they also have an Elgin sausage and egg taco.! BOOM!
Bill Miller's is a sad shell of its former self. It's like they saw the world around them changing, and said, "Screw it, we're going to double down and serve slop for $5.99 and they'll love us for it!"sdc177 said:
I will get roasted for this but Bill Miller's is pretty good IMO.
So it was really good at one point? My BIL lives in SA so I'm there occasionally, and I've never known it to be anything other than not quite Rudy's quality.evan_aggie said:Bill Miller's is a sad shell of its former self. And I say this as a native to San Antonio...

Ah, kind of a bummer, loved their breakfast sandwiches. Will be interesting to see the new direction or if they just keep heading towards BBQ.evan_aggie said:

No more "Noble Pig" B&M stores...except possible the airport. Honestly, I think it was smart of them to transform into a new concept.
It is reference to a 1940's Mexican movie about a young orphan boy that takes bread (pan) and wine (vino) to a stranger in the attic of a convent where priest and brothers are living. They kind of get tired of his aloofness, only to find him one day in the arms of a statue of Jesus that had "come down" from the cross. Even if you don't speak a word of Spanish it is worth the watch!expresswrittenconsent said:PabloSerna said:

Interesting. The name "marcelinos pan y vino" has always struck me as a strange name choice for a taco shop but I've been meaning to stop in for a while.
