We live near rrhs. There was just a massive explosion that shook the entire house. Neighbors complained too.

I'm in Great Hills, about 1.5 miles as the crow flies. Shook the house, and the dogs were freaked out.

Felt it in my garage in Leander, crazy. Praying for the best for all those closely involved.

Found out this evening it was my daughter's friend's dad in the house. Luckily the wife and 2 daughters weren't there. Hope he's going to be ok. Very nice guy.

Supposedly ol boy was in the house when it blew.

I still don't understand how we could have felt it so far away. Also near RRHS and to feel it that far away, it just seems really odd. Figured it was something a lot closer.

My house sides to Sam Bass Road, I actually went in my yard to see if someone ran into the stone wall on my property line.

Very odd deal. A friend of ours was on site before the 1st responders. The husband took his wife's car to the house to mow the yard (neighbors verified he had mowed) so our friend thought the wife and kids were present. She saw the husband when removed from the rubble. Not good, could only describe it as melting skin and completely unrecognizable. If you slow down the video from nest, you see the initial blast start in the middle of the house.
Drove past it today on the home. Wild scene, especially with all the other damage to neighboring houses.

No. They still don't know the cause. It's accurate that there was no gas line. Sara, the wife, goes to our gym. Her husband still made it but was in surgery for a while. From what she said, he'll spend months in the hospital recovering. Luckily they had not moved into the home yet as they were remodeling before making the move. We have a group chat with everyone at our gym and someone asked if they heard and felt the boom. Sara responded that it was her house. She was frantic because it took a while for anyone to let her know what happened and they wouldn't let her get close.

I'd bet a dollar this ends up being the cause. My guess is the propane leaked inside the house overnight and filled up the entire house and didn't find an ignition source until the husband went into the house. I wonder if the husband could smell it when he went in the house. The propane should have had mercaptan added to give it the sulfur smell.

It's what we heard from a friend in AFD, but they still were still investigating when we talked to him last.
