It's with a heavy heart I announce that the founder and original owner of the iconic Austin bar & music venue 'The Hole in the Wall' has passed away. Doug Cugini was a close family friend, and a great person.

I remember hearing my parents talking about that place back in the late 70's or early 80's. probably related to the Texas Tornados, or Doug Sahm solo show, or Alvin Crow. The founder must have been in his 20's when he started it.
