Anyone interested in starting up a social baseball club in North Austin/round rock with me?

There's quite a few in Austin or south Austin. Could be fun

Start off with just a group of guys who show up to a sandlot and hit ground balls, pop flys and thrown the ball around. Maybe try some BP. Just a way to have fun.

I know there are adult leagues down in Austin. Maybe, if theres enough interest here, we can get a few games set up.

I play for one of the sandlot teams in Austin and it's a ton of fun. It's low-pressure but generally competitive wood bat baseball with beer and good community. I highly recommend getting a group together and starting a team. As far as I know, there aren't any games played north of town in our league, but it would be well worth the drive a couple times a month to get involved. Aside from the games played in east Austin, there are a few games played down in Lockhart and a bit east of town at the Longtime. I'm just a player, not an organizer/manager, so I'm not sure exactly how the schedules are developed or how new teams get pulled into the fold. I'm pretty sure everything flows through Sandlot Revolution.

Even if you decide not to go that direction, you should definitely still get together and play ball. Getting back into regularly playing baseball has been one of the best decisions I've made for myself in the past several years.

I looked at that but couldn't figure out how to join a team. But, it'd be cool to start up a team in the north and then try to get involved with the league down there

Could be down for trying (again), but you would have an old ag that appreciates wood bats.

Woods bats is the only way to go for a social club, imo

ambl plays some games at San Gabriel park in Georgetown.

I'd be interested. At least meet up and hit some balls.

Alright.

Sunday nights? Monday nights?

The elementary school my kids go to has a back stop. Rough field, but true sandlot, free and open

I would be in for getting together but I don't think I could hit anything over 60 at this point. Been playing slowpitch for the last 15 years or so. Can still play defense and pinch run

I play for the Beermakers and it is a lot of fun. The main reason I joined was the free beer from Meanwhile Brewery but what keeps me coming back is the friendship.

Which team are you on?

I'd like to play. If anything I can shag balls. It's been awhile since I played, but was alright back in the day. I work in Georgetown, live in Bastrop.

This is cool. My dad used to play amateur baseball with former MLB and minor leaguers in SA. Y'all need an umpire? I used to umpire ball in College Station.
