My colleagues are in Allen today for an offsite at the Courtyard Marriott on Stacy Rd; I'm trying to find a good place for dinner, fairly close by the hotel, but the restaurants the hotel recommended were chains: Bonefish Grill, Saltgrass.

I'm looking for a non-chain restaurant with a bar that's interesting....

Might check out Kelly's Bar and Grill - it is really close to the hotel. Lots of Aggie watch parties are there

Most of what is around you in Allen/Fairview would be chains. I wouldn't pass up Gloria's as an option though. Downtown McKinney is probably a 10 min drive away that could give you some local options. Ricks, Harvest, SugarBacon…
