I posted last week asking about a flooring expert. Well, we had someone out and it was a water leak with significant damage to the flooring and cabinets so it seems like we will be progressing towards a kitchen remodel. Does anyone have a general contractor that they recommend for kitchens and living rooms?

We live in North Dallas.

We did a large remodel with Huntington Renovations last year and were very happy. Servigon Remodeling is very good too, just a little pricier.

Just posting one option…be your own GC.

Depends on budget and ability to manage but, depending on which bids I compare current costs, we saved $15K - $25K doing it ourselves. We had good electrician, plumber and tile guy already. Got recs for carpenter, painter and counter.

We are fortunate in that my wife stays at home and was able to keep an eye on progress day to day. Then, for about 3 weeks, each evening I was reviewing work / checking measurements / coordinating groups. We just have counters, backsplash and appliances left so we are on home stretch.

We did not move plumbing and reconfigure kitchen. That might be where I use a GC. We probably will for bathroom with demo, moving plumbing, all new cabinets etc but that is likely 2+ years out.

You can probably do a kitchen yourself but you won't have any priority with the subs

I'd welcome the opportunity to take a look at your project. I own Advanced Restoration Co., we do water/fire/wind/hail restoration and general remodeling as well.
