Just curious what options there are for a 16 year old to play baseball. Not interested in super competitive and school team won't be an option. Preferably mid-cities area.
Son is athletic but hasn't played organized baseball since very little. Not sure if he's out of luck since the few options I looked into are mostly 14 and below

Southlake, Colleyville, Keller, and TCR (Trophy Club/Roanoke) all fielded rec league HS division teams this season. They play in The TEBA league that does games around the metroplex since there are so few at the HS level. It's just a way for boys that want to keep playing baseball but not through select or their HS program. I'd recommend looking at those association's website. I don't think Tri-Cities fielded a team this year, but you could check with them anyway.

I'd echo Invisible. TEBA is a great place to find rec teams with kids like your son - athletic, but haven't played baseball in a long time. From what I've been told, TCR and Keller have pretty solid programs.

I'll look around some more… checked the Colleyville website and it appeared they required recent experience and were targeting kids already playing on other teams but I may be mistaken
