HEB Alliance:

- prime ribeye's $9.99/lb.

- St. Louis spares for $1.67/lb (brings a rack down to $4.50 - $6.00.

EDIT: Maybe we ought to put location as well because I've noticed it depends on location in DFW. For example, my Kroger did the $1.87/lb last week, and it's doing the $1.99/lb (mentioned above) this week.

Are you typically going to the Kroger at Beach & Timberland in Keller or the one on Teasley & Hickory Creek in Denton? I go to both, depending on if I'm coming from work or home.

I either go to Teasley/Hickory Creek, or one in Bartonville on 407 by Marty B's.

BUMP!

Just went to Kroger in Bartonville and they have BOGO Tyson products. Whole chickens came out to about $6 each.

HEB Alliance has 99 cent pork butts which I haven't seen in quite a while. I'd buy 40 of them for sausage if they were boneless.

Dang. Kroger had briskets for less than $3/lb (can't believe I'm saying that's good) last week. I'm going to try to remember to post on here every week. I buy a bunch of meat so I'm always looking. I didn't think we'd see sub-$1 pork butts ever again so was nice to see HEB do it.

I actually can't tell much difference. Smoked at 20 lb Select overnight on Tuesday on the rec tec and it kicked ass. I got more meat from this brisket than anyone I can remember.

You probably got more meat because there's less marbling throughout it, so there's less rendering.

There's also very little difference between a bad choice (most of the grocery store briskets so you need to go through them and pick out the good ones) and a good select if you know how to pick them out. Glad you got a good one.

Nice! Glad you got a good one. I should have said "my experience is that Select is garbage"....didn't mean to paint with a broad brush. I've always had good luck finding "good" Choice ones during Kroger sales. I do need to pick one up soon...sounds good!
