I'm up here in Argyle, TX and I am beginning to wonder if it will ever rain here again. I mean, this is simply impossible and ridiculous at this point. I have a little over an acre and I just cannot afford to give my lawn the water that it needs. I have thrown in the towel.

Make sure to hit your trees still. I see people who let things go and they have 100 yo trees that have limbs that are sagging 5 feet or so. Some have even lost significant limbs.

Besides our trees, we aren't watering anything. I've let the few potted plants I have die. There are cracks in our yard that I'm pretty sure my kids could fall into.

We're currently at 42 days without measurable rain. 2000 we went 84 days.

Who's we? I'm over two months now.

South west denton- highland village, Argyle corith ...area has been exceptionally dry this year. There was some sprinkling in early July that that did'nt even wet the pavement. By my account, 2 month of no rain and starting 3rd month.

I been watering all the tree's including native species. Even crep myrtle which tend to be draught tolerant seems to be suffering with loss of folliage like winter month...Watering perked up pretty quickly. Lost mature maple tree last year due to convective heat from brick wall...I am just going to plant mequite tree and nothing else...

I wish I could just do zeroscape or something. But yes it's ridiculous. Getting a little rain now in sw ftw

Rained here 15 minutes… first time in about 3 months

Ground was wet and there was lighting and thunder around in north dallas/Richardson this morning when I got up to let the dogs out. Had to run and check my phone. My poor rain gauge still has cobwebs in it though.

No rain here is south Aledo. My yard has cracks my pony could fall thru. We have put water out for the smaller wildlife who can't drink out of our horse water tank. Trying to toss scraps out for all of the bunnies & deer. Can hardly keep my hummingbird bird feeders full. Bird feeders too.

Gave up on my flowers.

I drove yesterday out to Tawakoni. East side of Rockwall to Quinlan, some of the hardest rain I've seen in years. Highway driving with hazards on and almost had to pull over. Insane. Lots of lightening too. Bet they got an inch or 2.

Allegedly a high of 77 and 55% chance of showers predicted for next thursday... I have no faith in that happening.

The core of that storm dropped 4 inches on East Rockwall.

I guess today was a little bit later in the year, but I remember it was 110-111 for a couple days on Labor Day weekend in 2000.
