Howdy, Ags! I'm Katie Hudson '17, marketing coordinator at Texas A&M's Master of Engineering Technical Management (METM) program. We're excited to join the TexAgs community and reach those in the Aggie network who are interested in earning their masters or know an interested friend, family member, or colleague.

The Master of Engineering Technical Management (METM) program is designed for working professionals who aspire to become technical leaders. Through advanced leadership and business acumen, the online program equips graduates with the expertise required for advancements in their careers.

METM Class of 2025

Students choose METM over an MBA or MS degree due to its unique nature of combining business leadership topics with a technical and engineering context.

The typical METM student can be described as:
  • An early to mid-career professional.
  • Ambitious and looking to advance into management.
  • Having an undergraduate STEM degree or working in a related field.

For one week each year of their program, METM students travel to Texas A&M University's campus to participate in Residency Week. During this week, students connect face-to-face with faculty and their fellow classmates, hear from guest speakers, and develop new perspectives on their leadership style.

METM Residency Week Fall 2024

After Residency Week, students return home to finish the rest of their courses online and asynchronously. The online feature of the METM degree not only allows students to continue working while they pursue their masters, but also encourages the integration of their career by focusing on current industry best practices that students can immediately apply to their jobs.

METM courses are taught by experienced industry leaders and focus on real-world best practices. Coming from NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and more, METM faculty are eager to share with students their management expertise from years of working in industry.

We take pride in being a part of the Aggie Family and Network. About 20% of our students are A&M undergrad alumni, but the other 80% become Aggies through METM. Students celebrate by earning their Aggie Ring. We also keep connected to our students and alumni by investing in our community with events such as graduation celebrations, tailgates, holiday dinners, etc.
