Thanks for this post Ol Jock. I always appreciate these.

I hate both presidential candidates with a passion, so not voting there.

As a lifelong Republican, I find it offensive that Texas is represented by a limp-wristed twirp like Cruz. Not sure how the guy walks with the knee pads on all the time. I'll still never forgive him for causing us to lose to ND. So, I'm holding my nose and voting Allred. Pretty much straight party ticket after that.

I would rather have a limp wristed conservative than a strong liberal. Allred is not a "safe" choice at all.

Allied voted 100% with Nancy Pelosi, that's all you need to know.

Always good to base your vote on sportsball superstition

I never said I believe everything Ted cruz says, but that is a fact. Allied didn't dispute it in their debate.

Happily voted for Trump!!

Foolish to vote for open borders….
I visit family in both Juarez & Del Rio about 2 times a year. The border isn't open.

Again, those pesky facts are a bich when you want to vote based on anecdotes and emotion

I'm not sure I've seen any Republican answer the League of Women Voters. Did they even send them jk

This is so illogical and nonsensical I just can't even digest it.

You are a lifelong Republican but are going to vote in a Senator that will do everything in his power to do the total opposite of what you supposedly believe in. Because you are butthurt over a football loss.

You should at least leave Senator blank as you are doing with POTUS to preserve your integrity and intelligence.

I love how Cruz used to b/tch about term limits and is now seeking to become a Senator for 18 years.

Seriously, he's voting for Baylor Pelosi instead due to personality. Smh

National politicians are all slimy. Always fascinating to me to still use the 9th grade student council vote approach to pick on personality vs policy. Allred will give a rubber-stamp to whatever Schumer wants. Period. We know this.

Just because you believe the rules should be different does not mean you should not play by the current ones.

Voting against term limits would be hypocritical. Applying a non-existent rule only to yourself would be idiotic.

If you think my "intelligence and integrity" are at stake over a vote against Cruz, your brain is beyond fried.

If you want to vote for the limp-wristed simp, awesome. He's still a limp-wristed simp.

If he was truly principled he could've bowed out (or shut the **** about term limits in the first place, knowing they'd never pass)…but no, he likes the power. He also likes sucking off a sh/tbag yankee populist who took a dump all over his wife and father because it suits him. That's what "real masculinity" looks like, I guess. Anybody who votes enthusiastically in this election (or any election) should kill themselves. None of them give a single, solitary **** about you.

I'm not some touchy feely dude that needs someone to speak nicely or give a F about me. I care about policy. I care about massive government bloat, over-regulation that drives higher costs to consumers, and a complete sieve of a border that results in a myriad of issues.

Only way they get him out of that seat early is if Trump puts him on the Supreme Court. I don't see that happening, but there's a far better chance of that than the next Beto or Allred slap-d beating him.

So prop S and U passed. I never found what I consider to be an unbiased source for an estimate of how much impact they will have. Anyone have thoughts? I understand the potential for lawsuits to drain the city of resources, but how many will actually be filed and not just thrown out? What are the implications of having a police hiring mandate in the city charter?
Ol Jock 99
How long do you want to ignore this user?

We just don't know at this point. S could unleash a flood of lawsuits...it might not.

U will be "interesting". We won't hit the hiring requirements; that is all but guaranteed. The revenue handcuffs will likely be a big problem.

But super importantly, from my primary guide and the result…

DannyDuberstein

I feel like S and U won't really change anything. They both seem dumb, but police will remain understaffed (and will just be out of compliance with most of this thing) and lawsuits that have always been happening will continue.
