I had a bad chip and used safelite which I scheduled through a portal on my insurance website. It was a pretty well run operation, they came out the next day.

I checked with Allstate, and we do have glass coverage. But the deductible is $1k. So basically worthless coverage unless it's a high end auto.

I've used Safelite twice with no issues. First time, the price was very fair. Second time, it was way more because they claimed they had to recalibrate the fancy cameras behind the windshield.

Just as an alternative, someone on here a few years ago suggested Mr. Glass over by T.I. near the Dallas/Richardson border, and I have since used them for two repairs and one replacement with no complaints. For the chip repairs I just took it in, but for the replacement they came out to my office in East Dallas:
