We had water damage and need to do demo and replace real hardwood floors , sand and re-stain existing nearby, and then have several bathroom areas we want to re-do.

We almost signed with a group two days ago but today we confirmed what we thought…they marked up stone more than double on cost then tried to add their contractor markups too. I am not an idiot so we are firing them thankfully without having done any transactions. They will have just wasted their time and effort.

If this job didn't have demo and new shower, I would do it on own (we GC our own kitchen remodel) but it may be a bit too much but not wanting to get ripped off as we can handle most of the procurement of materials etc….really just need an organizer.

Well…wife is now is determined to do this on own after stewing on it all day. We were GC for our kitchen remodel a few years back and when we moved in we did flooring and paint. We have dealt with / have people for electrical, tile, countertops, flooring, paint, carpentry (new vanity), etc.

I think the area we need guidance and help with are demo (someone to do it and haul off) and then the bathtub/shower work. In one bath we are just going to install a new alcove tub to replace current (old acrylic) and in other bath…that is going to be the trickiest…we are going from alcove tub with shower head to just walk in shower so that is the big part of the project. I don't know who would do the build out, waterproof etc.
