My wife and I have our 7th anniversary coming up here this month.

She is 12 weeks pregnant with our 3rd and we have a 7 month old and a 5 year old. The pregnancy has taken us a bit by surprise and my wife is just mentally struggling with the idea of almost Irish twins (13 months apart).

I'd like to try and do something nice for just the two of us for an evening but don't even know where to start. My wife isn't the most trusting and I'm just looking to see if anyone has some direct recommendations or can point me in a direction of where to look?

I'm sure there are gonna be some flamers in the comments - but genuinely asking for the power of Texags to help an Ag out.

We've used the Bambino app a few times, and the sitters have always been great. All sitters on there have to go through a thorough background check and must have a letter of recommendation from someone in the community to be listed.

This is my go-to.

If you were in Fort Worth, I could give you multiple personal recommendations. The advice to ask the youth and/or college ministry pastor at church is a good one. If there is an active mom's group on Facebook in your area (the one we have in FW has 32k members) then I would have your wife post there to ask for recommendations. A lot of people I know have connected with babysitters that way.

Do your kids go to daycare & have a good teacher there? That's where we got our first one.

We just moved back to the area this summer after a return to office mandate. Last we were here was when we were pregnant but hadn't had the first yet.

We used to attend Watermark before we left but haven't nailed down a new church home yet. That being said, we have attended Northway a few times and one of our older neighbors might be able to help us with finding a recommendation!

Are you on Facebook? If so, search for the Northway Church group on there. My wife and I are members and see babysitting-related posts on there all the time (both looking for and offering). Side note, if y'all get settled in at Northway and come to the 9, we serve in the preschool ministry as well and may cross paths with you/your kids!
