Nothing wrong with the bathrooms at the new-ish place at OSR exit. It is infinitely better than the terrible restrooms at the Buffalo exit.

Then quit speeding.

But I guess some of us are criminals and some aren't. And before anyone gets offended:

criminal - noun - one who has committed a crime

crime - noun - an illegal act for which someone can be punished by the government

Speeding is a crime. Ergo, speeders are criminals.

BOOOOO this man!!!!

I've actually started going 45-7-39-21

7 is where Woody's is. OSR has become trash and people drive 45mph on it.

The stretch on 7 is <5 miles. And people fly on 39.

It's 8.5 miles from 45 to 39 on 7.
And it's 10.5 on OSR.

About the same. But if you go over to Woody's it's definitely slower. lol

I really never get behind anyone slow on OSR maybe I'm just lucky.

You're right. Feels shorter than the OSR trip because it's a straight shot.

I got behind some beater going 45mph on OSR last weekend. We had 30 cars lined up behind us.

Passing on OSR at night is a no go.

I'm talking the New Woodys right on 45/7. Literally at the exit on 7. Give it a shot sometime

Last weekend we took 45 to OSR only because I was craving a chopped BBQ sandwich at Woody's Smokehouse in Centerville. I usually go 45-14-6. Been going that way primarily for 50 years.

I've always taken 79 over to 39 (Buffalo to Jewett) but there's probably not much difference between all three.

You can almost drive as fast on 39 as you can on I45. I did get a speeding ticket back in my student days in Normangee though. But it got dismissed because the cop lost his copy!

But that Buffalo to Jewett is really slow. It's a lower speed limit for 90% of it literally through two small towns.

Once you OSR you never go back.

My only problem is if I'm driving the women folk and they need a restroom earlier (Buffalo). I can always make it to OSR. or even all the way to CS sometimes. But if I already exited I will go over to Jewett.

What is the difference between criminal and illegal?

One is breaking the law, the other is a sick bird.

Per Google Maps, Dallas to College Station

I-35 -> Hwy 6 - 2 hr, 44 min
I-45 -> OSR -> 39 -> 190, 2 hr, 46 min
I-45 -> 14 -> Hwy 6 - 2 hr, 50 min

Google Maps assumes you are driving the speed limit. So I-35 is nominally fastest IF you are obeying the law.

I have no idea which one gives you the fastest time if you break the law.

We took our 5 year old to the Samford game and went 35 down and 45 back. Traffic was similar and the drive time was within 5 minutes of each other.

Throw it in GPS and don't over analyze it.

I go 45-14-6 mostly to break up the monotony like another poster said.

Heard about OSR forever...took it ONCE in college and got a speeding ticket. Nope not doing it again.

6 isn't bad unless you're going through Hearne around rush hour in a Friday. A train with all those lights can make that 3-4 mile stretch take an hour.

One of the benefits of living in Tarrant is that the answer to this is easy; the only controversy is if you take the loop in Waco or the 77/484 freeway from 35 to 6 (do the latter).

It's easy because it's not really a choice - and the only optional part is minimally different. But it still has Hearne and Calvert to deal with which can be bad.

The 45 way has several legit options - and boils down to preference more than anything.

But the only route that goes through no significant towns once you leave the interstate and has no stop lights until BCS is 45/OSR/39/21. And Normangee is a single stop sign. I've never done any other route in under 2:40 from Dallas or Arlington/FW.

Even 35/6 can be done in under 3 hours usually now since they bypass most small towns.

Options are good though and if I'm coming from A/FW I certainly will go that way.
